Welcome to the first Pop-Up newsletter of 2026. The last few years for the Pop-Up has been a whirlwind of activity. From our first little even at Baker Street Emporium in Ramsgate, to our take-over of shops in Broadstairs, and more recently the first permanent Pop-Up at Bleak House, one of the seaside homes of Charles Dickens.
Looking forwards to this year, we have more book fairs planned, the introduction of more amazing local authors, and so much more.
So spread the word, share details of the Pop-Up and hopefully the Pop-Up will grow even further.
Coming up.
The Permanent Pop-Up will continue to be in its new home at Bleak House in Broadstairs, where you can buy some amazing books by our wonderful Authors.
Open Tuesday-Sunday 09:00-15:00 Havisham & Cratchit sell tea's coffees and a selection of cakes, along with a selection of antiques, and crafts.
In June the Pop-Up will once again be at the Dickens Festival at Bleak House, this is the second year of the Dickens Festival being at Bleak House after the huge success of the event in 2025.
We are also looking at holding our first book fair in Sandwich, bringing together a selection of our authors with genres to suit all readers.
The Pop-Up Bookshop is holding it's first Children's Book Festival this year. A day of readings, crafts and fun. Aimed at children of all ages, on Saturday 30th May.

Author Spotlight
John Condon has been a supporter of the Pop-Up Bookshop since the very first event in 2022 at Baker Street Bistro in Ramsgate.
John's award-winning children's books are great for all ages, from early readers to adults reading to little ones at bedtime.
"The Wondrous Dinosaurium" Mr Ree sells all sorts of dinosaurs – ones that chew or slurp, stripey ones and dotty ones. However, the Diplodocus' love of vegetation is vexing, the Tetradactyl is tricky to tether, and the Tyrannosaurus Rex seems permanently peckish. Will Danny ever find his perfect prehistoric pet? Age 2+

"The Pirates Are Coming" A hilarious retelling of The Boy Who Cried Wolf, with not one but TWO twists!
Tom has a VERY important job; every day he climbs to the top of the hill and watches for pirate ships. But when he rings his bell and shouts "PIRATES!" a few too many times - and there's NO pirate ship - the villagers begin to get tired of hiding. So what will happen when the pirates really do show up?

"The Best Bear Tracker" How do you spot a bear? In The Best Bear Tracker, the rules are quite clear, but maybe, just maybe, our heroine might not be as good at tracking as she thinks.
This hilarious picture book is full of quirky charm. Little readers will love laughing at the main character, who is oblivious to the bears following her through the forest. But are they really what she is looking for?

John's latest book, "We Are Dragon's" is coming out on the 26th February 2026, you can pre-order now via Amazon, to be first to get your copy.
Join four playful dragons on their hilarious journey through a fairytale kingdom, where fun turns into chaos at every turn.
From dazzling at the Prince’s Royal Ball to mixing fizzing potions in a witch’s cauldron, these dragons can’t help but cause mischief wherever they go. This rhyming tale is bursting with humour and vibrant illustrations that will delight young readers. Discover the mayhem and laughter that await.
